Our history

A long journey that began in 1969 under the guiding hand of Alberto Gilli, who foresaw the enormous potential of decorative products: today, as then, the personalisation of a room represents the single individual and the users of the space, allowing its character to be interpreted through creative expression.

1969

THE ADVENTURE STARTS

Alberto Gilli founded Candis, a small manufacturing company producing chemical components, specifically release agents for polyurethanes: this was the first step in a story of constant evolution and improvement.

1977

THE BUSINESS EVOLVES

Thanks to the entrepreneurial vision of its founder, who foresaw a flourishing business in the decorative paint sector, the company introduced Multicolor, the speckled product inspired by grit.

1986

THE DAWN OF SUSTAINABILITY

The Research and Development division comes to life in the form of a chemical laboratory that invents the first totally water-based decorative product, the famous Arteacqua: a concept that was quite innovative for the paint sector of the time.

1998

THE ANTICHE TERRE FIORENTINE

The public welcomes with open arms L’Originale delle Antiche Terre Fiorentine, the decorative product that symbolises Italian excellence in the home. 2009

PRODUCTION IMPROVEMENT

The production plant expands to cover a surface area of 8,000 square metres and the energy efficiency of the plant is improved by the photovoltaic system and the insulated outer cladding.

2013

THE NEW GENERATION

The appointment of Beatrice Gilli as CEO marks the beginning of the new generation at the helm of the company. A succession that retains unaltered the philosophy of the pursuit of excellence in the field of decorative products.
